The Roots

What was originally labeled the “special drink” by my aunt became a recipe that lined my family’s roots. I grew up with the afternoon craving for a Limer as a regular occurrence. Once I moved out to college in Nashville, I found that living in a dorm without a kitchen or the means to create a Limer was frustrating. Often, without realizing the potential, I wished for the ease of buying a ready-to-drink version of it. But it didn’t exist. Then it struck me—I could make it exist.

During my senior year at Belmont University, I steered a great deal of attention towards my entrepreneurial studies—using Limer as the ship. From an idea that answered my convenience, to an observable, savory-forward soda gap in the beverage market, I went all in.

In the first semester of my senior year, in the early phases of building Limer, I participated in the 1-minute elevator, Shark Tank-style, pitch competition—I won first place and $2,500.

The following semester, I started executing. I sold out of my first pop-up on campus. I participated in a longer 5-minute venture plan pitch competition, Shark Tank-style, once again—I won first place again and $5,000.

Now, a recent graduate, I am full-time in Limer—building and nurturing.
